The Angler's Logbook x JM Knives
Our second iteration builds on the success of our original Hunter's Knife through minor tweaks to elements of the design. The leading edge of the blade has been lengthened with a slightly more pronounced curve to enhance the ease of skinning and gutting game. An integral guard has been incorporated near the heel of the blade for increased safety when gutting, particularly for those who have had limited experience processing animals. One of the most complemented areas of the original knife - the apricot handle - now has a larger face for an even more comfortable grip with greater surface area for operating the knife with wet hands in the field.
The blade is a suitable length for minimising unnecessary weight, while maintaining a sharp, robust leading edge for gutting, skinning and field dressing wild game. The blade is made from recycled, vintage leaf springs and has been forged in a coal furnace, resulting in a distinctive aesthetic which blends ruggedness and refinement. The knife blade will patina over time, telling the story of every use of this hand-crafted knife. Alternatively, a quick rub of steel wool over the blade is all that is required to maintain the original appearance of the blade if desired.
The brass bolster seals the end of the apricot timber handle for improved durability. The timber is shaped to provide the user with an ergonomic handle that features contours at either end to mitigate hand slipping.
Included with The Hunter's Knife 2.0 is a handmade leather sheath to protect the knife between use.
Each knife is crafted individually by hand, so there will be minor differences between each one, though the inherent qualities are consistent across each knife.
Hand wash only.
